Speaking at #SqlSatChi – SQL Saturday #484 in Chicago

I’m really excited to be speaking in Chicago this year. I’m going to be giving my “Shortcuts From an Impatient DBA” session. I love this presentation, and I’m excited to share it in Chicago.

How’d you do that?!?

This presentation is a series of keyboard shortcuts, lesser-known SSMS features, code tricks, Windows tips, etc. Most of these are tips I picked up by watching other people and asking “How’d you do that?” Those are some of the most powerful learning moments we have–when we see something cool and learn to do it for ourselves. I’ll say it again: I love this presentation.

One of my goals in putting this session together was that everyone in the room would walk out feeling like they learned something new that they could actually use. Sure, it’s a lofty goal, but so far I’ve got a good track record. Come learn something, or come prove me wrong.

See you in Chicago!

Shortcuts from an Impatient DBA

This session is about performance tuning your day.

We spend a lot of time thinking about how to write efficient code, but we don’t spend a lot of time thinking about how to be efficient at writing code. In this session I will show you some lesser known keyboard shortcuts, tips, tricks, and hacks that will make your day easier. These are the tricks I’ve picked up over the years that help me get my work done quicker and easier.
