Every young person deserves to feel seen

Homophobia thrives in silence and ignorance. I came out in 2003 and have vowed to support other LGBTQ+ folks throughout their own journeys. Fundraising for The Trevor Project has been one way I’ve kept that promise.

In 2016, I organized an unofficial LGBTQ meetup at PASS Summit. The event sold out, and our community raised more than $3,000 for Trevor. Two years later, we came together again, and with matching gifts the fundraiser topped $15,000. Those fundraisers matter to me both for the money we raised to support Trevor’s programs and for the conversations and connections that grew into a community around them.

The Trevor Project provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ young people. Its work also includes life-affirming resources, education, and advocacy alongside its hallmark suicide prevention programs. I proudly support its whole mission. Learn more about The Trevor Project.

If you or someone you know needs support, you can get help via phone, TTY, text, or chat.
