Every kid deserves a seat at the table
If you’re a regular reader here, you know I love building a community where members feel valued and are free to engage and express themselves. I also love to feed people. My friends know that when I make plans, the plans usually center on a meal. Food brings people together; food and community are inextricably linked.
Food also gives us the energy to be ourselves and succeed. One in five kids in this country lives with hunger. You don’t always see hunger, which makes it a sneaky foe to battle. In America, childhood hunger isn’t caused by a lack of food—it’s caused by a lack of access. Financial barriers, food deserts—the list goes on. We need to break down those barriers.
No Kid Hungry has a clear, simple goal: no child should go hungry in the United States. That promise matters when food is so integral to our success and our communities. You can read more about No Kid Hungry’s programs on its website, or donate by clicking the “Support” button. I don’t use click trackers or referral codes; it’s a direct link.
