A safe place to land can change everything
Homeworthy is a local organization working to break cycles of poverty and homelessness in Midcoast Maine. Midcoast Maine is my adopted home—but it is my home. Homeworthy understands that homelessness is complex, with both acute and systemic causes, and that addressing it takes a variety of programs.
One of its programs is The Landing Place, a youth center in Rockland, Maine. It helps break cycles of poverty by compassionately supporting young people at high risk of experiencing adversity. The Landing Place offers everything from transitional housing for emancipated minors and young adults to a drop-in center with free snacks, Wi-Fi, laundry, showers, and much more.
The Landing Place even shares a wall and backyard—and a mission and clientele—with another fantastic local youth charity: Out Maine. They do amazing work in MY backyard, for MY community. I’d love for you to click the “Support” button to help Homeworthy and The Landing Place, and I’d also encourage you to find an organization that helps at-risk youth in your own community.
Donations go through Homeworthy’s official giving site; this blog does not collect or process donations.
